Hiya, it’s Salt Bread Diaries part 19! This week’s salt bread was an unexpected visit. I was actually waiting for a table at Obihiro Nikudon Gading Serpong (the line is much more humane compared to the one in Blok M). Not far from Obihiro, I saw another crowd lined up in front of a store with a salt bread logo. Oh well yes… yet another salt bread in town. I automatically dragged my feet and join the line.

Reading the name, I had a hunch that Ana Bake & Bloom is not originally from Greater Jakarta area. And I was not wrong – their first two stores are located in Pontianak. It seemed like they had a massive success there, and expanding the business to the hippest area in Tangerang was surely a great decision…

The queue was pretty long and it was approaching dinner time. Learning from past salt bread stories, this was a sign that the store would be running out of bread pretty soon. Again, I was right. Shortly after, a staff came out from the kitchen and announced that they no longer restocked the shelves. Original salt bread and other savory flavors were sold out, leaving only Mr Ferrero and Royal Pistachio Kunafa. I bought those two and a drink called Bloom Tea.

If you are familiar with Ferrero Rocher chocolate, you can already assume what does Mr Ferrero taste like. The same case with Royal Pistachio Kunafa. Eating those two was a super messy experience, but the good news was all the mess was worth it. Delicious! All the sweetness somehow didn’t fully conceal the saltiness of the bread.
If I happen to be around the neigborhood again, I might come back to try their savory selection. Especially the Corn Supreme salt bread.

Final thoughts:
Food: 8/10 | Service: 8/10
Big, delicious. Quick and friendly service.
