We are now on the thirteenth part of Salt Bread Diaries. Despite the (too literal) name, Paris Baguette is a renowned bakery chain originates in South Korea. (Its contender, Tous Les Jours, has an equally French name.) Paris Baguette opened their Indonesia’s first branch in 2021, but I never went around to try it out until my latest trip to Seoul in 2024. Their branches were everywhere – and by everywhere, I mean EVERYWHERE. It seemed like their shops were available within every 1-km radius! (As I’m writing this post, I find this article and learn that there are more than 3000 Paris Baguette outlets nationwide in its hometown. The ubiquitous presence makes sense then.)

The outlet I visited was in Central Park. The ambience was pretty comfy, although being located in the middle of a mall with open space concept. The salt bread selection was individually wrapped in plastic. I asked the staff to reheat the bread. He mentioned that reheating was not really necessary, but he did what I asked.

I bought the only two available flavors: salted butter milk bread and salted butter multigrain bread. First impression: the salt bread was very skinny. It felt frail in my hands, like holding a brittle baby bird. Maybe I was too used to eating plump-looking salt bread. Although being just reheated, the bread was just very slightly warm.
First bite in, I didn’t taste any saltiness. Just some milky flavor. Three bites later, I reached to the center part – where the saltiness was finally there. It was salt salty though, not buttery salty. The bread was very airy. I had a little bite of the multigrain one, and it was pretty much the same. Except…well, it included grains.

I saw at least two people on TikTok declaring Paris Baguette’s salt bread as one of the best – and I had to disagree. It was okay, but I wouldn’t put it anywhere on the top tier.
(Anyway, it seems like that they put the wrong name for Paris Baguette Indonesia’s website – the home title says “Paris Baguette Singapore”.)

Final thoughts:
Food: 7/10 | Service: 7,5/10 | Ambience: 7,5/10
Nothing remarkable.
